Vowl:
Meet Vowl, a very small app that displays random tag-based Flickr slideshows while you do other things.

While the app itself may seem rather pointless (and thus not fitting with the beliefs espoused here), I think there is a something else that appeals to me about this…

Randomness.

We, as humans generally fear randomness. We like order. We like knowing what comes next. We want to know the secrets behind the magic.

I argue that by embracing the uncertain, to be content in not knowing, is to enjoy what we do know even more. Take the time to delight in what is here, right now, around you and invite tiny surprises wherever you can.
