1. New Pro Features at Typerighter.com →

Typerighter, my favorite web based writing tool, just added a bunch of great new features to the Pro version (which is also newly available).

First of these is support for tagging your documents — but with a twist. Certain tags have special meanings:

    • #public: to make your writing publicly accessible
    • #mit: to automatically add a MIT license on your #public writing
    • #cc-by: to automatically add a CC-BY license on your #public writing
    • #cc0 or #pd: to automatically add a CC0 (public domain) license to your #public writing
    • #WHATEVER-YOU-LIKE: organize your writing with your own #tags, all the hashtags you’ve applied will be visible at your-subdomain.typerighter.com

I’m told that there will be support for more of these special tags in the future including expanded licensing options. You can look at my list of weekly Simple Missions for an example of how this looks in practice.

In addition, there is a new Daily Journal feature. Type your-subdomain.typerighter.com/today as the URL in the browser and it will create a new document with the day’s date and “Daily Journal” at the top. Also, creating entries for other days works as well ( /yesterday, /tomorrow , /next-monday, etc.). It’s an easy and clean place to keep some thoughts or records of the day.

Really great updates all around that I’m very happy with and have found quite useful. I’ve been doing a lot of my writing with it lately.

The current price for the “Pro” version is $9.00 a month. The “Am” version that does not include all of these features but is still a great place to write is currently $6.24 (which rises by a penny for each signup so get in now to get the best price). Of course, you can always use the free version too for one off documents.
