Minimal Mac

Your Mac, simplified.

I, like many people, rely on the bookmarks bar in Safari on an everyday basis. I also take full advantage of the key commands incorporated into it (pressing Cmd + 1 will bring up your first bookmark, Cmd + 2 the next, etc.). However, I of course am aware of which bookmark is which number on my keyboard, so why do I still need the clunky bookmark bar harshing my minimalist Mac’s mellow? I don’t.

You see, even if the bookmark bar is hidden, I can still use the key commands.

Alas, simplicity that preserves utility.

I do this as well and it is really handy. The only drawback is that this only works with single item bookmarks, not folders. That said, in Safari, Command+Shift+B shows and hides the menubar so you can always get the folders out quickly when you need them and then hide them away again when done.

Want to be really minimalist? Just don’t use bookmarks. It’s what...do. About a year...
