Minimal Mac

Your Mac, simplified.

One of the things I have always liked about iTunes is that you can reduce the window to a “mini player” that has just the controls and info you need in a very small space. MiniMail is a plugin for Mail.app that allows you to do the same thing. I have been using it for a long time now and it really does the job well. It displays a few lines the most recent unread message, allows you to scroll through other unread messages, has a “Quicklook” feature that allows you to read the message in full, and lots of key commands for navigation and composition. Having things like this allows one to have a lot of information on screen with a modicum of distraction.
