1. TurboScan for iPhone

    TurboScan is one of those apps that does one thing very, very ,well and that you don’t think you will need until you do. It basically allows one to take photos of documents with their iPhone camera and “scan” them into a PDF (stitching together multiple pages if you like). At that point you can email them to yourself, open in another app that can read PDFs, or even send them to an everything bucket service that supports such actions like Evernote.

    Now, while all that sounds pretty straight forward the WOW factor comes when you see the results. Here is a “scan” of a couple of pages of a book that I did as I held the book open between fingers and thumb in one hand and snapped the photos with the other (link is the actual PDF):

    TurboScan is only $1.99 in the app store which was worth it to me for just being able to scan a book page or three here and there with the tool I have right in my pocket.
